Hawthorn Hall

903 Hitt Street  Columbia, MO 65201

Hawthorn Residence Hall

Hawthorn Hall is located in the center of campus, just next to the Student Recreation Complex. This hall is just a minute walk from Pershing Hall’s Mizzou Market and about a five-minute walk from both the Pavilion at Dobbs and Eva J’s dining halls.

Hawthorn is open during all academic breaks, offering students the option to stay in Columbia for the holidays. This hall is co-ed featuring traditional single rooms, traditional double rooms and four-person single-suite style rooms. Because returning students have priority on housing contracts, this hall fills quickly, and single spaces are limited. There are also handicapped-accessible rooms in this hall. Both the accessible rooms and the suites have their own bathroom, but the traditional single and double spaces operate on a community-style restroom system.

Hawthorn’s four stories are lined with fully furnished rooms that include central air conditioning, bunkable and height-adjustable beds, a desk and set of three drawers and a spacious closet for each resident. Hawthorn houses the front desk, study rooms, classroom and mail room for Galena, Dogwood and Hawthorn Halls and has a large, fully equipped kitchen on the main level. Although Hawthorn does not have its own laundry room, students can take the tunnel connecting Galena and Hawthorn to the Galena laundry room that has 11 high efficiency washers and 12 dryers.
